Sports Massage

Massage:

Sports Massage

This form of massage can be performed pre and post a sporting event. A pre event massage is lighter with fast strokes, to help improve blood flow to the area and prepare the muscles for sport.
Post event massage is generally deeper, focusing on flushing out lactic acid build up, enhance muscular recovery, therefore reducing delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS)

Deep Tissue

 This massage technique is similar to sports massage, but we use this in clinic to help kneed out muscular knots, tension and bi product build ups. Massage can help with;

  • Back pain
  • Neck tension
  • Arthritis
  • Break down scar tissue
  • Decrease stress
  • Enhance muscular recovery

And so much more…

This massage technique is deeper than a therapeutic massage, concentrating on you’re muscular needs, it can involve trigger point therapy to help release tricky tension spots.

Does it hurt?

Is it a no pain no gain situation? Will i be able to cope with it? These types of massage are different to more therapeutic styles, the idea to go deep into the tissues, to focus on the painful and injured areas, n an effort to undo muscle knots, lengthen tissues and break down scar tissue. So you may experience discomfort at certain times. At Dynamic we strongly believe that if our treatment is causing you too much pain, especially in massage we are not achieving your goal. We will always work within your limits and get a full understanding of what you want to get out of your massage and understand your pain.

Can everyone have sports and deep tissue massage?

Most people can, but there are a few exceptions, i.e

  • Not over bruising or open wounds
  • If you are having or just had chemo
  • over skin rashes

There are a few others, but if you’re not sure check with your doctor or give us a call before booking in.
